Resurreccion B. Bunyi began her music education at the age of eight under Sor Carmen Alvarez, who earned her piano degree from the famed School of Music in Barcelona, Spain. Among Bunyi’s compositions are: “La Bandera Filipina,” composed when she was 14 years old, and dedicated to Governor General F.B. Harrison; “Tanging Ikaw,” a waltz; and “Huling Awit,” a kundiman.
